Job Description

The job consists of system design and specification of Marine electronics required to provide communications, security, entertainment and navigation systems on various size vessels. An element of travel will be expected, as well as hands-on, to solve any issues arising from the design. This is predominantly an office job but involves customer contact and presentations to sell your ideas.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge

 

Qualifications

HNC or Above. In Marine elctronics

 

Knowledge

VSat, GMDSS, Fleet Broadband, VoIP, distributed entertainment systems, navigation, SCADA, Cisco networks, security etc.

 

Skills

• Experience and ability to design integrated systems and plan the installation of electronic systems on large/small vessels and possibly platforms
• Provide a comprehensive system proposal document in response to customer and sales department requirements.

 

Intrinsic Job Factors

Must be willing to travel although most of the work will be office-based. Able to plan, cost and supervise others to successfully implement system designs to a high standard. A proven track record in the field would be an advantage.
