Job Description

The Bid Manager will form part of the Bid Management function, based at Luton, to help facilitate the efficient and effective execution of complex and strategic bids.

 

The Bid Manager should be able to work autonomously and have the appropriate skill set to be leader of any bids assigned to them; they are accountable and responsible for the bid from start to finish.

 

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Delivering proposals and bids within challenging timescales which meet the customer requirement
  • Lead and influence Bid Teams from start to finish
  • Deliver bids using the Life Cycle Management processes
  • Scope requirements from RFI/RFQ/RFP/ITT
  • Manage bids up to a value of £5 million +
  • Manage and deliver Cross LoB/Sector or Consortium bids

 

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge

The following skills and experience are required: (can be split further into ‘essential’ and ‘desirable’ according to each specific role):

  • Preferably a degree or equivalent qualification related to the nature of the role (i.e. Engineering or Business)
  • A qualification in APM, APMP or equivalent accreditation, desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in Bid Management or Project Management
  • Experience of delivering to challenging timescales
  • Demonstrate ability to influence and lead Bid Teams
  • Familiar with Life Cycle Management processes
  • Ability scope requirements from RFI/RFQ/RFP/ITT
  • Experience of managing large bids
  • Ability to run Cross LoB/Sector or Consortium bids
  • Demonstrate an understanding of marketing principles and concepts including marketing communications
