Job Description
Assistant Bid Managers are part of the Business Development team. Their role is to manage the internal, onsite activities associated with Marketing and Sales campaigns. A major part of the role is to lead the Bid Process, and specifically, the deliverable responses to customers (or potential customers) that have requested information and/or pricing for our products and services. The role is broad, and includes a high level of interaction with most of the functions within the company. It also often includes interaction with other parts of the Selex ES business based at other sites as well as other external suppliers or partner organisations. This role therefore, is varied, interesting, often encompasses working to tight timescales, and is an ideal opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the business.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Influencing and leading individuals and teams
- Building and maintaining working relationships between different functions
- Scheduling/Planning appropriate internal reviews and deliverables
- Point of Contact for bids
- Support to campaigns
- Reporting on bids and associated activities
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
Preferably a first degree or equivalent qualification related to the nature of the role (i.e. Project Management, Business Management, Marketing, Engineering or other related).

- Strong focus on meeting deadlines
- Broad understanding of EW and products
- Experience of delivering to challenging timescales
- Understanding of LCM
Desirable Skills/Experience
Preferred experience in Planning, Project Management, Commercial or Marketing and Sales, however it is not essential as the successful candidate will be developed within the role/

Individual needs to be a good communicator, willing to demonstrate flexibility and adapt to respond to relatively fast moving or evolving requirements.
