SELEX Galileo: Luton awarded the Sword of Honour
Luton, 3 November 2010 – The Luton site has won the Sword
of Honour award from the British Safety Council (BSC) for
dedication to Health and Safety.
The Sword of Honour is the most prestigious international Health
and Safety accolade that a company can receive and is only awarded
to organisations that have already achieved five stars in the BSC
Health and Safety Audit.
A maximum of 40 swords are awarded each year and Finmeccanica is
the first Defence company to be recognised with this
achievement.
During the three day audit it was necessary to prove the develop
of safety culture which consistently strives for best practice and
is supported through all levels of the Organisation. In addition to
the rigorous assessments we were required to submit a Health and
Safety strategy that addresses a multitude of different
areas.
