Key Responsibility Areas

  • The primary responsibility will be to provide support to the HR professionals involved in the Engineering function, HR Resourcing activity and Graduate programme. This will include administration and tactical HR work.
  • Other activities and project work will be assigned as deemed appropriate for the business and for personal and career development. Sole responsibility for business groups will be assigned as capability in this role progresses.
  • Support HR team in activities related to the implementation of the HR strategy, and functional support for activities such as salary reviews, performance management, talent management and employee relations.
  • Develop a working understanding of the various HR functional activities.
  • Gain competence in HR practises as assigned.
  • Gain an understanding of the organisation, the business products and services and how HR can support the business objectives.
  • Achieve and maintain professional credibility with internal customers. 
  • Maintain excellent communication within the function and business contacts.
  • Develop competence in management of employee relation issues as assigned.
  • Work in virtual teams across the business on project work where appropriate.

 

 

Reporting to VP HR, the Graduate HR Assistant will play a full part in the HR team. Working with all members of the HR team locally and cross business as required.

 

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Business/HR Related degree
  • A keen interest in all aspects of Human Resource Management
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn & develop
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Able to identify and solve routine problems.
  • Able to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team or on their own, with minimal supervision
  • A good working knowledge of the MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

 

Intrinsic Job Factors

This is an office-based role using display screen equipment, working full time hours which can often be in a demanding environment.

 

As part of this role you will be expected to travel possibly in the UK and abroad, you will also be expected to stay overnight as part of this travel. Working to tight deadlines either on a regular or ad-hoc basis will be required.
