Cityforum round table: "Strengthening global cyber
security"
28 September 2011 – Salters Hall,
London, UK
This Cityforum round table brought
together officials, politicians, industrialists, technologists
and other experts to look at where we are and where we need to be
in developing the expertise, cooperation, coordination and
partnerships that have to be mastered if safe operations in
cyberspace are to be achieved. The event will consider the key
issues of strengthening global cyber security, including what needs to be done
and how, providing the security to meet a fundamental threat, and
the associated structures. It will also consider the recently
issued US cyber space strategy.
The agenda focused on the challenges
posed to defence, security and law enforcement, and broadened out
into the particular vulnerabilities posed to industrial prosperity
by cyber disruption of global supply chains and potential attacks
on the global financial sector.
Finmeccanica UK CEO, Alberto de
Benedictis, chaired a round table discussion focused on the
financial sector, asking “whether a financial system under stress
can deal with an additional threat?”.
Michael Clayforth-Carr, CEO of SELEX
Systems Integration also spoke at the event, discussing the subject
of “helping corporates achieve robust information defence”.
Further details on this event can be
found on the Cityforum
website.
