Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT)
16-18 July 2010 – Fairford, UK
Held annually at RAF Fairford,
Gloucestershire, the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), the
world's largest military airshow, has gained the well-earned
reputation as one of the UK's top outdoor family events. RIAT is
organised by the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises in
support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust (RAFCT).
Finmeccanica and its companies attended
RIAT, where they had a hospitality chalet for the three days of the
event offering refreshments and lunches.
As part of celebrations marking the 150th
anniversary of the UK Cadet Movement, youngsters representing all
three Services were invited to RIAT 2010 to demonstrate the
benefits of being members of one of the most successful voluntary
youth organisations in the world.
Last, but by no means least, RIAT 2010 marked
the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Supported by the
Royal Air Force and including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
and representative international air forces, the Air Tattoo
recognised the bravery of all those who fought in this historic
battle.
