E-Crime Congress 2011
20 October 2011 – Victoria Park Plaza
Hotel, London
The E-Crime Congress is designed to meet the needs of key
stakeholders and decision makers who are responsible for managing
information and technology risk, protecting sensitive data,
securing technology and ensuring compliance with multiple
regulatory requirements. The agenda provided strategic and
technical advice, examples of best practice and practical case
studies that detailed how in-house professionals can meet the
demands of evolving business models. The conference provided unique
perspectives on how organisations can take advantage of emerging
opportunities to increase productivity or decrease cost, while at
the same time maintaining the security and integrity of IT systems
and electronic assets.
Finmeccanica was one of the sponsors of the
conference's Education Seminars. Oscar O'Connor, Services Director for Finmeccanica
Cyber Solutions, presenated a seminar entitled "What
organisations and individuals can do to aid law enforcement in
preventing and prosecuting cyber crime", in which he outlined the
main categories of cyber crime and the ways in which businesses and
organisations can protect themselves and therefore prevent crime.
These include: Identity theft; Intellectual property theft;
financial theft through, for example, web store cloning; financial
fraud; and money laundering.
