Space
The UK Government now perceives Space as one
of most vibrant industrial sectors that differentiate the UK in the
world with a leading position in world-class technologies and
services. Space is increasingly recognised for underpinning the
functions of the modern world with reliance on telecommunications,
timing trains, financial transactions, monitoring the global
climate, and extending our knowledge of our place in the
universe.
The global Space market is forecast to be
worth around £400bn by 2030. In order to capitalise on this
extraordinary expansion, the UK Space Industry has come together to
develop an ambitious 20-year strategy to capture 10% of that market
by 2030.
As the UK Government responds to forecast
growth in Space-related industries, Finmeccanica can harness its
assets and contribute to meeting the target to increase the UK's
share of the Space market. We have a world-class portfolio of
Space-related capabilities and are uniquely placed to support the
UK government and its industry partners as they strive to further
establish the country’s global position in Space.
Finmeccanica has identified opportunities in
this sector, building on its technological excellence and extensive
Space capabilities. Our strong systems engineering capabilities,
combined with market knowledge and niche offerings, will allow us
to develop our business in the upstream manufacturing and
downstream applications markets.
