SELEX Systems Integration announces British Air Traffic
Management successes at ATC Global 2011
9 March 2011, Amsterdam –
SELEX Systems Integration, a Finmeccanica company, today announces
a series of contract awards with regional British airports,
consolidating its position as the country’s leading Air Traffic
Management (ATM) solution provider. The announcement was made at
ATC Global 2011, the world’s leading ATM exhibition.
Over the past six months,
SELEX Systems Integration, the UK
subsidiary of leading global ATM solution provider, SELEX Sistemi
Integrati SpA, has won ATM contracts to support the development of
the Isle of Man, Southend and Jersey airports.
These successes have been based
on the company’s ability to provide value for money; demonstrate
technological innovation to maximise the airports’ operational
capability; and its commitment to working in partnership with
individual airports to ensure enduring and sustainable benefits for
the airport and its local supply chain.
Among the technology innovations
that have contributed to the company’s recent successes is the
integration of SELEX Systems Integration’s Primary Surveillance
Radar combined with Wide Area Multi-Lateration at the Isle of Man.
The new systems will provide the airport with the ability to more
accurately pinpoint an aircraft’s position over a much wider air
space.
In addition to its new ATM
contract awards, SELEX Systems Integration also announces that it
is to continue its support of recently installed systems at Belfast
City, Bournemouth, Newquay and BAES Warton airports, as well as
updating the ATM capability it is currently providing for the
Marshall Cambridge airport. This last contract was awarded after
SELEX Systems Integration demonstrated a working solution to reduce
the potential disruption from a proposed nearby wind farm.
Speaking on the recent
successes, SELEX Systems Integration CEO, Michael Clayforth-Carr,
said: “I am tremendously proud that so many airports have now
chosen SELEX Systems Integration to be their ATM solution provider.
I believe that this is testament to our proven investment in
innovation and our team’s continued dedication to understanding how
best to meet our customers’ future ATM requirements. I would like
to congratulate all our people on their efforts in making 2010 such
a successful year, and I look forward to working successfully with
our new customers and established partners in the coming
years.”
