SELEX Communications enhances Ultralight Headset

10 January 2011 – SELEX Communications, a Finmeccanica company, has enhanced the functionality of its Ultralight Headset, a fully ruggedised lightweight communications headset that is hardwearing, durable and designed to optimise performance in harsh environmental conditions.

Interoperable with major radio and intercom systems, the Ultralight Headset requires minimum body contact in adverse weather conditions. Waterproofed to 1.5 metres, it is compatible with all SELEX Communications legacy communication systems, including the Personal Role Radio.

It comprises a small boom mounted noise-cancelling electret microphone and miniature speaker. A high strength, screened-down lead terminated with a waterproof SELEX Communications 5-pole audio connector is standard. It can be configured to be worn over the left ear. Right ear variants are available. There is a dual-fitting option, with or without three-point cloth headband, with an optional microphone windshield.
