SELEX Communications produces 12,000 antennas in the UK in 2010

15 November 2010 – SELEX Communications, a Finmeccanica company, achieved an impressive milestone with the production of the 12,000th antenna at the company’s York facility in the UK from designs created at one of its other British plant, in Filton. This follows the transfer of antenna manufacture from outside sub-contractors to the York production site, enhancing inter-site co-operation and ensuring better quality for customers.

York provides engineering, project management and manufacturing services. In addition to its new role as a UK centre of excellence for antenna manufacture, the site supplies headsets, radio interface boxes, intercoms, covert equipment and waterproof audio systems.

They create bespoke antenna solutions – both civil and military – for a wide range of fixed, mobile and man-portable platforms, including man-pack/body-worn applications, wideband/multi-band vehicle installations and aircraft arrays. Filton is also specialised in electromagnetic engineering services and marine services.
